Paul Pfanner, CEO

Paul Pfanner has worked in media and marketing for more than three decades. He was the founder of Southern California-based Pfanner Communications, Inc. and Racer Communications Inc., which are best known for publishing RACER, SportsCar and IndyCar Series magazines as well as providing automotive and motorsports content for SpeedTV.com. In January 2001, Paul sold the majority of Racer Communications to U.K. based Haymarket Publishing which produces nearly 100 magazines worldwide. From the time of the sale until the end of 2005, Paul served as President of the renamed company; known as Haymarket Worldwide.

In January 2006, Paul reestablished Pfanner Communications, Inc. as a marketing and brand consulting company. In 2012, Paul reacquired RACER, RACER.com and Racer Special Projects. The new company, Racer Media & Marketing, Inc. operates with Pfanner Communications as an integrated media, marketing and branding company. Paul has moderated panels at the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) World Congress featuring the leaders of global motorsport on the subjects of relevance sustainability.

Bill Sparks, COO

Bill Sparks has spent the last thirty-five years working in motorsports marketing and consumer and custom publishing. He first worked in an editorial capacity for Pfanner Communications' automotive and motorsports clients and later moved to the business side of the operation. He was responsible for the business plan and launch of RACER magazine, becoming its founding publisher.

Sparks was directly involved with developing successful branding and marketing strategies for many Pfanner Communications clients. He now manages the business affairs of Pfanner Communications and Racer Media & Marketing, Inc. 

George Tamayo, Creative Director

George Tamayo has over 15 years of motorsports marketing experience, having served as Director of Marketing and Communications for Skip Barber, Inc., Commercial Manager for Champ Car World Series team RuSPORT and as a creative director/brand strategist at Manifest Marketing + Communications — in addition to his work for Pfanner Communications and Racer Media & Marketing, Inc.

From 2011 through 2012, George was the founding General Manager of the Global Rallycross Championship, a youth and action sports oriented race series in collaboration with the ESPN X Games. As GM, George was responsible for managing the Competition, Operations and Marketing departments.

In addition to client work under the Pfanner Communications/RM&M banner, George has completed work for the Audi sportscar experience, BMW Performance Center, Formula BMW USA, Grand Prix of Denver, Grand Prix of Edmonton, Jim Russell Racing Drivers School, Lime Rock Park, Patron-Highcroft Racing and the Red Bull Racing Team.

At the 2011 SEMA Show, George was a speaker on a panel discussing the future of youth and alternative motor sports. His writing has appeared in several publications including GQ Magazine.

LAURENCE FOSTER, EDITORIAL DIRECTOR

As the Editor-in-Chief of RACER magazine and Editorial Director of Pfanner Communications., Laurence is the creative force behind all of Pfanner Communications and Racer Media & Marketing's authoritative and world-class motorsports content. A degreed aerodynamicist, Laurence turned down an offer to join the Williams F1 design team in 1993 to take an editorial post at Autosport.

He came to the United States in 2004 to lead RACER's special projects/custom publishing team when the magazine was still owned by Autosport's parent company, Haymarket Media. Laurence stayed with Pfanner Communications/Racer Media & Marketing when it was reacquired by its founders so he could continue his passionate pursuit of producing the world’s best motorsports content.

Molly Binks, Producer

For the better part of two decades, Molly Binks has worked as a free-lance producer studio and project manager on advertising and marketing accounts for Acura, Audi, Buick, Cheesecake Factory, Columbia Pictures/Charlie's Angeles, Hyundai, Indian Motorcycles, Infiniti, Kia, Lincoln-Mercury, Mercedes-Benz, Mighty Dog, Mitsubishi,, Saturn, Volkswagen and Volvo in addition to clients served under the Pfanner Communications and Racer Media & Marketing banners.

Molly was also the youngest person ever elected to the California Sports Car Club Board of Directors and has worked in a variety of administrative capacities for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach as well with all major sanctioning bodies.
